Discover Marrakech in the most thrilling and stylish way possible, aboard a vintage sidecar motorcycle. Our sidecar tours offer a unique perspective of the Red City, combining the excitement of open-air riding with intimate access to hidden corners that buses can’t reach and walking tours would take hours to cover.
Perfect for couples, small groups, or solo travelers looking for an adventure beyond the ordinary, our 5-hour sidecar experience takes you through Marrakech’s iconic landmarks, bustling medina quarters, and local neighborhoods where authentic Moroccan life unfolds away from the tourist crowds.
Each vintage sidecar accommodates one passenger comfortably, with room for a second rider behind the driver. For groups of 3-4 people, we operate two sidecars traveling together, allowing everyone to share the experience while maintaining conversation at stops. Your English-speaking guide doesn’t just navigate, they bring Marrakech’s stories to life with fascinating historical context, cultural insights, and recommendations you won’t find in guidebooks.
Whether you’re a first-time visitor wanting to see the highlights efficiently, a photography enthusiast seeking that perfect shot, or a returning traveler ready to explore beyond the typical tourist trail, our sidecar tours deliver an unforgettable Marrakech adventure.
Sidecar tours aren’t just transportation, they’re an experience that solves several challenges travelers face in Marrakech while adding an element of vintage charm to your journey.
Open-Air Views Without Walking Fatigue
Marrakech’s summer temperatures can soar above 40°C (104°F), making long walking tours exhausting. Our sidecars provide the best of both worlds: you experience the city in the fresh air with unobstructed views, but without the physical strain of hours on foot. The gentle breeze as you ride keeps you comfortable even on warmer days.
Access to Narrow Medina Streets
Tour buses can’t navigate the medina’s labyrinthine alleys, and taxis must stop at the edges of pedestrian zones. Sidecars, however, can reach areas that larger vehicles cannot, allowing you to ride through atmospheric neighborhoods, past artisan workshops, and alongside locals going about their daily routines.
Photo Opportunities from Unique Vantage Points
Seated in a vintage sidecar creates instant Instagram-worthy moments. But beyond the vehicle itself, your guide knows the best spots for capturing Marrakech’s iconic architecture, colorful markets, and street scenes. We build in plenty of photo stops throughout the tour, guests typically take 50+ photos during their ride.
Vintage Style Meets Modern Comfort
Our carefully restored 1960s-style sidecars aren’t just nostalgic, they’re conversation starters. Other tourists will watch enviously as you cruise by. Yet despite their vintage aesthetic, these vehicles are regularly maintained for reliability and safety, equipped with comfortable seating, and include safety helmets for all passengers.
Semi-Private Experience at Accessible Pricing
Private car tours of Marrakech can cost €300+ for similar duration. Walking group tours, while cheaper, often include 15-20 people and move at the slowest participant’s pace. Sidecar tours accommodate just 2-4 people maximum, giving you the intimate feel of a private tour at a more accessible €165 per person price point.
Our sidecars are ideal for couples seeking a romantic adventure, friends wanting a unique shared experience, or solo travelers who prefer small-group dynamics over large bus tours. If you’re celebrating a special occasion, anniversary, honeymoon, birthday, the vintage sidecar ride adds memorable flair to your Marrakech experience.
For those considering alternatives, you might want to compare with our full-day Marrakech guided tours which cover similar sights in a private vehicle format.
Our sidecar tours follow a carefully designed route that maximizes your Marrakech experience while allowing time for photos, questions, and spontaneous discoveries along the way. Here’s what a typical day looks like:
9:00 AM – Hotel Pickup & Sidecar Orientation
We collect you from your riad or hotel in central Marrakech. Your guide provides a safety briefing, helps you get comfortable in the sidecar, and explains the day’s route. Helmets are provided in various sizes, including options for children if traveling with family.
9:30 AM – Koutoubia Mosque (Photo Stop)
Our first landmark is Marrakech’s most iconic minaret, the 77-meter Koutoubia Mosque. Built in the 12th century, it’s visible from throughout the city. While non-Muslims cannot enter the mosque, we stop outside for photos and your guide shares the fascinating history of Marrakech’s most important religious site.
10:00 AM – Medina Exploration: Souks, Tanneries & Hidden Squares
This is where the sidecar truly shines. We navigate through the medina’s winding streets, passing the famous souks where artisans craft leather goods, metalwork, textiles, and ceramics using centuries-old techniques. We’ll stop at a traditional tannery (from a viewing terrace, don’t worry, you won’t need to brave the smell up close!) where you can watch leather being dyed in vibrant color-filled vats.
Your guide leads you to hidden squares like Rahba Kedima (the spice square) where local apothecaries sell traditional remedies, cosmetics made from argan oil, and exotic spices. Unlike rushed walking tours, you have time to browse, take photos, and even purchase items if something catches your eye.
11:30 AM – Bahia Palace Visit
Built in the late 19th century, the Bahia Palace showcases Moroccan architecture at its finest, intricate zellige tilework, carved cedar ceilings, and tranquil courtyards filled with orange trees. Entrance fee (~€10 per person, not included) grants access to explore the palace’s ornate rooms. Your guide provides historical context about the vizier who built it to house his four wives and 24 concubines.
12:30 PM – Saadian Tombs
Dating from the 16th century and rediscovered only in 1917, the Saadian Tombs contain the graves of members of the Saadian dynasty. The mausoleum’s stunning decoration, gold leaf, Italian marble, and intricate stucco work, offers insight into Morocco’s golden age. Entrance fee (~€7 per person, not included) is well worth it for history enthusiasts and architecture lovers.
1:30 PM – Mint Tea Break at Traditional Café
Moroccan culture revolves around tea, and no visit is complete without experiencing it properly. We stop at a local café (not a tourist trap) where you can enjoy traditional mint tea and pastries. This break gives you time to rest, chat with your guide about anything from local customs to restaurant recommendations, and simply watch Marrakech life unfold around you.
2:00 PM – Return to Hotel or Preferred Drop-Off
We cruise back through different neighborhoods than we arrived through, giving you additional perspectives on Marrakech’s diverse districts. Your guide can drop you at your hotel, or if you prefer, at Jemaa el-Fnaa square to continue exploring, or at a specific restaurant for lunch.
Please note: The actual itinerary may vary based on traffic conditions, site opening hours, and your personal interests. Guides are flexible and happy to adjust stops if there’s something specific you’d like to see or skip.
Not all sidecar tours are created equal. Here’s what sets ours apart:
Authentically Restored Vintage Vehicles
We use genuine vintage-style sidecars inspired by classic 1960s designs, not modern scooters with sidecar attachments. These machines have character, history, and undeniable visual appeal. Each vehicle is lovingly maintained and regularly serviced for both safety and reliability.
Regularly Maintained for Safety and Reliability
While our sidecars look vintage, they meet modern safety standards. Each vehicle undergoes thorough mechanical checks before every tour. We maintain comprehensive insurance coverage and provide quality helmets for all passengers. Your safety is never compromised for aesthetics.
Comfortable Seating with Sun Protection
Sidecar seats are cushioned for comfort during the 5-hour journey. The sidecar body provides some wind protection, and we include storage for personal items, water bottles, and any purchases you make during the tour. If traveling in warmer months, the breeze from movement keeps you surprisingly comfortable.
Instagram-Worthy Design
Let’s be honest, part of the appeal is how incredible you’ll look cruising through Marrakech in a vintage sidecar. Our guests consistently tell us the photos from this experience become their favorite memories from Morocco. The combination of colorful Marrakech backgrounds and classic vehicle styling creates stunning imagery.
Expert Local Guides Who Go Beyond the Script
All our sidecar guides are Marrakech locals with minimum 5 years of guiding experience. They’re fluent in English (and typically French as well), but more importantly, they’re passionate about sharing their city. They know which alleyways hide the best artisan workshops, which cafés serve the most authentic food, and which viewpoints offer the best sunset photos.
Beyond the standard historical information, they’ll answer questions about contemporary Moroccan life, recommend restaurants for that evening, explain the etiquette for visiting a hammam, or suggest off-the-beaten-path experiences for the rest of your Morocco trip. Many guests say their guide’s recommendations proved more valuable than any guidebook.
